planting trees.

i found a sweet little card

at the corner bookshop

& somehow

it found its way here...
{just like this gorgeous site!}

waterfalls & mountaintops

Today's visual couplet; waterfalls & mountaintops

waterfalls because of their tranquility, & mountaintops for the view. & i guess both have moments of difficulty, turbulence going down the waterfall & a struggle to the top,
but ultimately,
they each exude an awe-encompassing emotion when in their presence!!!

Today is building firm foundations...

a fathers love.

Happy Fathers Day!!!

it takes a great man

to build others up{he always knows the people whose paths cross his, whether it be the old digger selling anzac pins, or the couple that own the restaurant etc}

& is happy to shelter us under his wings

a great herald of wisdom [& that wisdom must sit alongside knowledge]
{"knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit,
wisdom is not using it in a fruit salad"}

a profound love!

Today we honour our father!

Visual Couplet {light & dark}

i've pondered this over the years,
'a single ray of light can penetrate dark places'{& did you notice the light on in the building archway?}

there are so many wonderful sayings about light,
"Be the light or the mirror that reflects it" Edith Wharton
"Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you." ~Maori Proverb
"We cannot hold a torch to light another's path without brightening our own." ~Ben Sweetland
"Live in rooms full of light." ~Cornelius Celsus
"Someday perhaps the inner light will shine forth from us, and then we'll need no other light." ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
"When it's dark enough, you can see the stars." Charles A. Beard
"Let your light so Shine"
i am fascinated that in the process of photomorphogenesis, it is "the light which tells the plant how high to grow, how many leaves to sprout, when to flower, when to set fruit, and when to age" Elder Lynn A. Mickelsen
May light light our way!

Today, luminous light appears...

the treasure of hope

this week i was thinking

about wishes,

why is it that we wish upon a weed?

& how amazing it is

that hope can make something which is mostly disregarded

into something we value.
a cherished alkemie of seeing beauty &
treasuring hope... combined with the power of faith, can make something lovely out of something that we could slight...{transforming dandelions into wishes}

Today is filled with wishes!!!
{& the promise of hope!}

*the pinkest of days*

what a lovely saturday my Mum, youngest sister & i had as we wandered around Queen Street mall. {i love that people always think Mum & i are sisters :) "No thats my oldest & my youngest & i have 3 more in between"}

ending up in this quintessentially pink shop

filled with the elegance of afternoon tea{we ended up having raspberry & pear loaf from a cafe nearby, & though the rasperry cheesecake & tirimasu seemed to sing to me, i had to banish that melody :) }

& the smiles of children

{or squeals of delight}

{...or the more heartfelt admiration}

adoring these

& loving these.

there is pink for the big girls

& shoes full of love

i was definately looking at these through rose coloured glasses

oh & crocheted scarves!

its not pink but, well...it sparkled at me!!!

Hope today this sparkles for you too!
{Please visit Beverly to find out more about her wonderful event!}

Happy Pink Saturday!
