~ fragments.. .

{& how to occupy a moment}

life has been green smoothies & strawberry smoothies & cooking lots of short grain brown rice,

& these heartful words from my brothers book:

[Well, a tiny snippet :) The book is called The Wisdom of the Native Americans]

"My friends, I have been asked to show you my heart."
Inmuttooyahlatlat{Thunder Traveling over Mountains}
He goes on to give a 2 or 3 hour speech {10 pages or so} which is heart-wrenching.

And I loved this part:
"The Ways of the People

All customs were held to be divinely instituted, & customs involving the training of the children were scrupulously adhered to and passed down from one generation to another.. .
they kept in close contact with nature. In this way they found themselves & became conscious to their relationship of all life.
The spiritual world was real to them, & the splendour of life stood out above all else. And beyond all, & in all, was seen to dwell the Great Mystery, unsolved & unsolvable, except those things that it is good for one's spirit to know.

And the part about the moral strength of women
"In the woman is vested the standard of morals of our people. She is the silent but telling power behind all of life's activities.
She rules undisputed in her own domain. The children belong to her clan, not to the clan of her father.. .but she is expected to be superior in spiritual insight. She is the spiritual teacher of the child, as well as its tender nurse.. .there is nothing artificial about her person, & & very little insincerity in her character.. .
She is in fact the moral salvation of our people."

There is so much more but I would be typing up the entire book!!!

Sunny days to you <3
