on that which moves me ~ donkeys & maps

"We were written in the stars, my love, all that separated us, was time, the time it took to read the map which was placed within our hearts, to find our way back to one another." Unknown

"A good plan is like a road map: it shows the final destination and usually the best way to get there."
H. Stanley Judd

"Who can map out the various forces at play in one soul? Man is a great depth, O Lord. The hairs of his head are easier by far to count than his feeling, the movements of his heart."
Saint Augustine

my hearts gives me a map which leads me to you.

"it is not down in any map; true places never are." Herman Melville

“All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.”
Earl Nightingale

“How we remember, what we remember, and why we remember form the most personal map of our individuality.”
Christina Baldwin

"There is great meaning in life for those who are willing to journey."
Jim England

"The feeling remains that God is on the journey, too."
Teresa Of Avila

"The only journey is the one within."
Rainer Maria Rilke

There are, i think, those journeys which take us higher!

'He saw that i was leaving & in his little way he asked, oh mama, bring me too...'

Donkeys because they've shared in some of the most special Christmas travels, & because of the beauty & gentle nature they convey...& maps because of the places they take us, things we could never find if we didnt have them to guide us, they allow us to dream of roads others have traversed!!! i began looking for maps because for the longest time i have wanted to paint a ginormous watercolour map & put it on the wall, or embroider a map of the heart on a white lace hankie...

today is special...because of where we've been, because of where we're going, because we've blazed trails...because we've helped others to get there too!!! loveliest thoughts

on that which moves me ~ Carolyn Quartermaine

i love the work of Carolyn Quartermaine!!!

especially the way she incorporates fluoro colours into white spaces & classic designs & makes them appear so chic & modern!!!

in all her work she creates a space that lives & breathes beauty/simplicity/elegance, a refined retreat filled with peaceful continuity...
today is harvesting beauty, serenading happiness & a cupboard full of precious things {especially the little pot that reads"how beautiful the breeze & the architecture of your smile"}

~ On that which Moves me ~

im thinking of doing a series of posts entitled "on that which moves me" every so often,
creating a selection of important things,
~things that, of late, inspire me deeply~

For many reasons,
~The Seahorse!!!~

Ensconsed in a world unperceivable, this tiny creature floats.

Co-existing with pearls, & drifting along currents, their curly tale gracefully seeking a sturdy grip ~
& sometimes, although they reside in watery expanses surrounded by dancing coral & we reside on sturdy ground amidst blossoming flowers,
we both bob along paths or currents beyond ourselves, in a vast migration of acquired imagining, hoping to catch onto that which will steady us while we enjoy the scenery

Noble Seahorses
Propelled by graceful fins
Carry mermaid seraphim
{i am SO amazed by the rate their fins flap at!}

Today~

Luminarias aglow
All are welcome here!
