a very special doll for a very special girl,
sheltering under a lace parasol,
a sweet bird chirping upon her shoulder


cradling a Russian doll,
inviting you to a tea party with her...



i have wanted to make this doll for a long while now,
to show her how special she is
& how remarkable she will become



Today magnifies beams of light

a pretty little girl ~ [with an ever present curl]

There once was a little girl
With an efficacious curl
In the middle of her pretty forehead!

And everywhere she went,
her little horse was sure to follow
kindly, ever so.









A union of nursery rhymes, because they fit. My little sister~ when she was 2 or 3~ had a blonde ringlet that sat right in the middle of her forehead & boinged as she walked. Now that she's grown, we pull her curls loosely up into a bun...& there is always a pony or doll or something special tagging closely behind.

Today is full of pretty!

my very first attempt...eek! inspired by Miss Elizabeth of Pride & Prejudice :)



a doll inspired by my brother, a colossal giant of a mighty man, who is never seen without his bag. it has travelled with him almost as far as his journey has taken him, through wind, hail, sunshine & the afternoon glow. tucked inside & cherished are all his precious things ~ it is something of an ineffable phenomenon

the most reluctant one i made, yet it seems to be everybody's delight. it would be something though, to glide through crystal waters, scales shining in the sun, pink hair :) flowing majestically about you





a doll i made for someone so dear she's more sister than friend :) Half Maouri & Samoan, she is everything fabulous & glamorous!

probably my favourite doll, inspired by my Mum. with her near black hair & azure eyes, i always thought her akin to Cleopatra :)

for lack of discouragement

After receiving a beautiful word of encouragement, & consistent urging from my sister, who desperately wanted a mermaid doll, i embarked once again upon the journey of a doll. such an endeavour...yet so rewarding!! my mind conjured up lace parasols, frilly aprons &...hats, "my word, something chronic!"(Eliza Doolittle, My Fair Lady) but for now it is a sweet bonnet, special shell & airborn kite that prevail.

clay for Christmas

I found Du Buh Du Designs about 10 weeks ago & was imediately struck with a sense of wonder & lingering intrigue. Her dolls are so beautiful! Her photos are so exquisite! Her site is an array of glittering jewels.

Several times she has had a shop update but as i live in Australia the update usually happens when im wonderfully snoozing, & by morning, poof, they're gone. So clay for christmas was the answer to my predicament, & this beautiful doll was the result. (Though my meagre offering pales in comparison to the workmanship of Du Buh Du dolls!)

Today i dream in aqua.
