Shimmering Gracefully

"The beauty of the trees
the softness of the air,
the fragrance of the grass,
speaks to me.
The summit of the mountain,
the thunder of the sky,
speaks to me.
The faintness of the stars,
the trail of the sun,
the strength of fire,
& the life that never goes away,
they speak to me,
& *my heart soars."
~Chief Dan George~

Shimmering gracefully about us at every moment,

gentle possibility, fragile opportunity.

Butterflies have been fluttering about me lately. i never usually see them. But there they are. When im driving through the city, or landing on branches as i walk by. Native American Indians believe that animals bring messages.

"The butterfly is the symbol of freedom & creativity. It holds the gift of transformation & soul evolution.. . It is a symbol of joy, & reminds us not to take life too seriously.. . They feed on flowers & help pollenate, thereby spreading beauty.. .When one antennae is missing it flies in circles, unable to find its way.. .They represent the element of air, quickly changing & ever moving, so gracefully."

What animal has crossed your path lately?

The impossible is not found in the ordinary. It comes from our footsteps of faith. It is born of miraculous courage. It is the extraordinary & the sublime. It is the fulfilment of our efforts.

Today i journey with stars in my pocket.

a cello named Deowen

a Christmas cello. a present for my sister.

when we went to pick it up, it was out the back in a dilapidated storeroom. & standing there, Radiating, was this special instrument.

reminiscent of splendour. a union of architechural excellence & musical sensitivity. a grounding sound of captivating intrigue. it was a spectacle of extraordinary proportion! like this! & this!

& i couldn't help but to think, how did they not know they had such a thing of excellence within their reach. it could illuminate their lives in so many ways. i suppose seeing it in those circumstances made it so radiant to me.

though on Christams morning i saw the same look light up everyone's face.

& whenever it is played, the meaning of the name Deowen permeates my mind as i reflect on its meaning ~ a prayer to God.

pearls we are.

When i was contemplating a name for this blog, the image of a pearl nestled in a clam shell at the bottom of the ocean shone in my mind. I researched a little about how a pearl is effectually formed.

Any tiny object can become a pearl by the irritation it endures when enfolded within the living layers of the shell. The lustre is achieved at last & most exquisitely depending upon the amount of layers of irritation the pearl receives. When light shines upon the finished pearl, its irridescent quality of succesive layers makes it sparkle on every facet & illuminates many many layers of beauty.

The meandering part of the name is reflective of how i live. & i suppose my life meanders at an accelerated rate... i'm always so busy, yet i believe Patience the only way to find & keep that which is most precious & dear to our hearts. Patience, Accumulating our choices to find...
Something lasting
Something worth keeping
Something eternal

The decisions we keep. The irritation we overcome. Makes us deep, rare & precious.

Today we illuminate each other.

lest we forget

she remembers him

he loves her

i got an email today, from a dear & precious girl across the world, who said these photos touched her heart. how does this little koala captivate our hearts? is it because we can all relate to this feeling of sheer baffling need...struggle until your wounded paws cannot be lifted to go forward one more step, & then hope against reason for someone whose heart shines with kindness to find us amongst the rubble.
& he did find her. & now their hearts are knit together through this precious exchange. & it makes our hearts glow. with hope. with courage. with love.

"Seraphim whose foot-falls tinkled on tufted floor"

There are moments when the world sparkles, when the stars seem luminous & hope inevitable. Then there are moments when to get to the very next second seems a task of impossible proportion. Moments when words aren't enough. Moments when the heart weeps...For those who do suffer, for those who have suffered, for the help you are too helpless to impart...And yet, it is in those moments it seems we are "Swung by Seraphim whose foot-falls tinkle on the tufted floor" {Edgar Allen Poe}. Sometimes in the form of a courageous helicopter, barely visible overhead, sometimes by the gentle hand of a heart that cares. The acts that show the God of heaven hears our prayers, & sends the help we are so incapable of doing without.

As i type, tears drip from my eyes that i can barely see. when we read this "A badly burnt man and his daughter turned up at a property where Marie Jones was staying. He had skin hanging "off him everywhere".

The man told her: "Look, I've lost my wife, I've lost my other kid, I just need you to save (my daughter)."
& to see these photos...
it is all we can do to care one for another with utmost love

Today my cheeks are wet with unspoken prayers

for lack of discouragement

After receiving a beautiful word of encouragement, & consistent urging from my sister, who desperately wanted a mermaid doll, i embarked once again upon the journey of a doll. such an endeavour...yet so rewarding!! my mind conjured up lace parasols, frilly aprons &...hats, "my word, something chronic!"(Eliza Doolittle, My Fair Lady) but for now it is a sweet bonnet, special shell & airborn kite that prevail.

"To look at a thing is quite different from seeing a thing,
& one does not see anything, until one sees its beauty."
~Oscar Wilde~

"He turns not back who is bound to a star."

sea breeze

I found a collection of photography through Persisting Stars. Its as though my soul is on tippytoes & im holding my breath in eager anticipation of what beauty her blog will emminate, every time i meander by. & this! evoking the same feeling. like wandering through a dream. the salty sea air fizzing on the breeze, with a solitary seagull who makes it less lonely somehow, & then around the world & across the pages of history to the leaves, almost white from the gentle drizzle of snowflakes, ending so happily with the pale soft balloons, ascending into the beauty of the afternoon… there to abide, subsumed in tranquility (with the possibility at any moment of ducks, cheerful ones)

Today i sigh wistfully...

Velvet Skies

"Bring me all your dreams,
You dreamers...
Bring me all your Heart Melodies
That i may wrap them
In a blue cloud-cloth
Away from the too rough fingers
Of the world."
~Langston Hughes~

some velvet dreams...
~moments of friendship that sparkle long after they were lit
~soft pink rose petals
~the paintings of Kandinsky{because you can see the orchestra & hear the harmony} particularly The Riding Couple(pictured above)a fav!
~"smiles come to those that weep" a quote full of hope
~antique needlepoint tapestries on thick stone walls
~snow upon the lillies
~dancing in the moonlight{yet to be experienced}

Today my heart thinks in gentle coloured whispers
