a cello named Deowen
a Christmas cello. a present for my sister.
when we went to pick it up, it was out the back in a dilapidated storeroom. & standing there, Radiating, was this special instrument.
reminiscent of splendour. a union of architechural excellence & musical sensitivity. a grounding sound of captivating intrigue. it was a spectacle of extraordinary proportion! like this! & this!
& i couldn't help but to think, how did they not know they had such a thing of excellence within their reach. it could illuminate their lives in so many ways. i suppose seeing it in those circumstances made it so radiant to me.
though on Christams morning i saw the same look light up everyone's face.
& whenever it is played, the meaning of the name Deowen permeates my mind as i reflect on its meaning ~ a prayer to God.
