an ode to simplicity

a lovely soiree devoted to the simple everyday occurences

like hand stitching
& letter writing,
& trees, especially trees
{their longevity
-their adaptibility/of swaying in the wind
- seasonal growth/changing towards what is needed
- how every leaf is unique even though on one tree there are hundreds of the same type}
running under the sprinkler as a child
bobby pins, the secret of upswept hair
Christina's sentiment for Haiti
& a giveaway...

tiny thistles growing in the garden
& a card about becoming{it reads,
"that wisdom which comes from being counted worthy of receiving"
...'extraordinary life'!}
doilies
& pinkest of roses

Wishing you all a simply beautiful day!!!

  1. Handwriting in your beautiful note book makes simplicity feel extremely special.

    I always feel sad that my kids don't know what fun it is to run under the sprinkler, drought and water restrictions for the past 10 years have meant my kids and a whole generation of children have missed out on this simple pleasure.

  2. Beautiful list, beautiful blog. I'm glad you like tiny thistles. I too have some feeling of connection to what others often see as deplorable. I love that you've placed the photo of the beautiful rose so close to the lovely little purples.
    And the picture of the hand stitching is very lovely.
    May you hear the angels applauding through the whispers of the trees.
